J WALTER THOMPSON / NEXT PROJECT >

Client Brief The client occupied three floors of a deteriorating building which required work. Rather than persevere with a less than ideal environment, the decision was made to look for alternative accommodation. The old Nestle factory in Parnell was chosen. Parlante was engaged with the need to complete the move within 2 months.

Parlante Solution The proposal was to let the existing strength of the building be recognised and this was achieved by continuing with it’s industrial appearance. The existing rough concrete was painted and apart from the minimal carpet in the corridor, the raised pine floor provided by the lessor, was retained. The result due to it’s minimal style, has a sculptural appearance which serves as a backdrop to large vibrant art works.
